Dubai: The congress gives Dubai a unique chance to showcase its advertising talents to a worldwide audience, Media City's director says.

Mohammad Al Mulla told Gulf News: "We hope that delegates and speakers attending the congress get to experience the growth of Dubai as well as see the dedication of the city to reach new heights."

Al Mulla said he believes the standard of the advertising industry in Dubai stands high, giving a good indication of the strength of the market.

For other exhibitors, however, the congress is an ideal opportunity to build on relationships and exchange ideas.

"This is somewhat of a meeting point, and Dubai is a booming and exciting industry to be a part of, the quality of the industry is even developing," said Chris Von Selle, managing director for JWT.

The reason why the industry is fast moving is due to the competitiveness in the market, whether it is in the fields of FMCG or media, the variety of industries makes it a hub, according to Von Selle.

Furthermore, exhibitors such as AGA, advertising and marketing, believe that even though there is heavy competition, the industry level in Dubai is sophisticated.

"We have offices in many regions, but Dubai stands out as being very different, competition is tough, but most importantly professional, said Roger Sahyoun, AGA president and CEO.

Sumantra Ghosh, sales manager for Arabian Radio Network said: "The advertising industry is growing, and the extra budgets have created further demand and maximized awareness."
