Accreditation for Petroleum Institute courses

Five engineering and applied sciences programmes get the go-ahead

Abu Dhabi: Five engineering and applied sciences programmes of the Abu Dhabi-based Petroleum Institute (PI) have been granted accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (Abet), it was announced during an event in the capital on Tuesday.

“The new accreditation confirms that all educational programmes provided by the PI meet the best international standards required for accreditation of the engineering and applied sciences programmes by the ABET inside the US and worldwide,” the Petroleum Institute, an educational institute sponsored by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), said.

The Petroleum Institute has already been granted accreditation by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

At the event, the Petroleum Institute also launched its new logo. The function was attended by Adnoc’s Director General Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi and the Petroleum Institute’s board members among others.
