Dubai: The Ministry of Economy and the Higher Committee for Consumer Protection are keen to enhance market stability in the UAE, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, said. The remarks were made by Al Mansouri as he chaired the committee’s meeting during which a series of topics related to market performance were discussed.

Al Mansouri said the ministry and the committee are intensifying their efforts during the current year in order to enhance market stability, protect consumer rights and support market performance and competitiveness.

Among the issues discussed was a report on fees collected by shops on credit cards against the use of services. The meeting also discussed coordination between the ministry of economy and local departments in implementation of the consumer protection law and addressing consumer complaints.
