Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has ordered an increase in the Shaikh Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development from Dh1 billion to Dh2 billion.

The Khalifa Fund will expand the scope of its services to cover all the emirates of the UAE. The decision is in accordance with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"The directives of the leadership reflect its commitment towards Emirati youth nationwide and their creative energies. They are our sons and daughters and therefore we have to provide them with whatever is necessary to enable them to innovate and create, to further develop their talents and to contribute to the socio-economic aspirations of the UAE," Shaikh Mohammad said.

Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of the Board of the Khalifa Fund, said its services will be made available to citizens of Fujairah and Ajman through the fund's branches in those emirates.

"We have already started preparing our branch in Fujairah — preparing professionals in business leadership and supporting small and medium-sized projects," said Ahmad Khaleel Al Mutawa, CEO of the Khalifa Fund.
