If you are interested in learning about obtaining the United States Green Card through the EB-5 program, you should attend this seminar being hosted by The American Legal Center on Sunday, August 6. The EB-5 program offers foreign investors a fast track route to U.S. residency and Green Cards and a stable and secure path to U.S. citizenship and passports. The team of U.S. licensed lawyers of The American Legal Center will discuss the ins and outs of the EB-5 program at their upcoming seminar taking place at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi meeting halls in Dubai Marina.
Introduction to the EB-5 Program
With an investment of $800,000 in a qualifying government pre-approved real estate project in the United States, foreign investors have the chance to obtain U.S. residency and eventually citizenship. The project of choice must create or maintain at least ten full-time jobs for U.S. persons. The source of funds used for the investment must be lawful. The investment is eligible for return to the investor after approximately five years from the initial date of investment.
“Investors have been drawn to the EB-5 program since its inception in 1990 given its flexible requirements and numerous advantages,” says Shai Zamanian, Legal Director of The American Legal Center, the leading EB-5 experts headquartered in Dubai. “Investors can include their spouse and children under 21 in their applications, allowing all members of the family to realize their dreams of living and working in the land of opportunities.”
Advantages of the EB-5 Program
Families are mainly driven to participate in the EB-5 program because it offers a safe and stable pathway to U.S. residency and citizenship. Other advantages include education opportunities, travel privileges, work authorization, and future security for the family.
“Throughout our extensive experience of over ten years in the EB-5 industry, we have witnessed that the primary motivation for our clients to participate in the EB-5 program has been for the benefit of their kids,” says Shai. “We regularly meet with parents wanting to provide a secure and stable future for their children by obtaining U.S. residency.” The EB-5 program allows parents to realize these goals given the many benefits that a Green Card unlocks. With a Green Card, students enjoy higher acceptance rates at leading U.S. institutions, as they are considered domestic applicants, granting them an advantage in the admissions process. Students can access considerably lower tuition rates and government grants and scholarships.
The EB-5 program also provides great travel privileges to its participants. Green Card holders can enjoy visa-free travel to countries with which the U.S. has an agreement such as Canada and Mexico. Additionally, Green Card holders can more easily obtain travel visas. Green Card holders are eligible to apply for a U.S. passport after living in the country for over two and a half years. As U.S. citizens, they can enjoy visa-free travel to approximately 187 destinations. “Many individuals opt for quick and easy solutions such as citizenship by investment programs offered by Caribbean countries,” urges Shai, “but recent events, such as the imposition of a visa requirement for Dominican citizens by the United Kingdom, demonstrate that these passports only provide temporary solutions.”
In addition to education and travel benefits, Green Card holders are also provided the benefit of having work authorization as they are eligible to apply for any job or internship position, whereas international applicants are restricted from certain available positions. Green Card holders are not required to be sponsored by an employer to be eligible to live and work in the United States. They are free to work for any employer or pursue their own entrepreneurial endeavors by establishing their own business.
