Abu Dhabi: Al Maryah Community Bank (Mbank), a leading digital bank in the United Arab Emirates, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Liwa College (LC) to provide academic and professional development programs to college students. This strategic partnership aligns with the Abu Dhabi government’s vision to foster cooperation with universities and leading educational institutions, enhancing the academic degrees, professional skills, and competencies of UAE government employees to improve their performance.

Under this partnership, Mbank and Liwa College will collaborate to offer young professionals academic and professional development programs that meet Abu Dhabi’s economic needs and benefit the UAE. Specifically, Liwa College students will have access to Mbank internships, placement assistance seminars, conferences, as well as consultancy and joint research projects to enhance their employability skills.

Additionally, Liwa College will offer Mbank employees and their first-degree relatives the opportunity to enroll in academic programs with an exemption from registration fees for the first semester, as well as access to scholarships and tuition discounts upon request.

Professor Mohamed Dhiaf, President of Liwa College, expressed pride in partnering with Mbank, stating that this agreement aims to establish a joint framework in various related fields by providing students with internships in Management and Information Technology. The partnership will also include organizing lectures and workshops for both students and Mbank employees, along with specialized courses and community and volunteer initiatives. Prof. Dhiaf highlighted that this cooperation broadens horizons for both parties, noting that Liwa College offers 25 specialized academic programs in Engineering, Health and Administrative Sciences, Media, Information Technology, and other fields. The college’s advanced infrastructure includes 35 state-of-the-art research laboratories and a faculty of over 100 distinguished academics from prestigious international universities, enhancing the educational level in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Commenting on the partnership, Mohammed Wassim Khayata, Chief Executive Officer of Mbank, said, “We are pleased to partner with Liwa College, a preferred provider of educational programs in the UAE, to create enriching educational and career development opportunities for students and promote social and economic development. This program equips high-potential graduates with hands-on experience in the field over four months, bridging the gap between conventional banking services and the rapidly evolving banking landscape. The ITQAN Training Program combines community digital banking practices and modern digital technologies and is open to candidates with a strong interest in banking and finance who demonstrate academic excellence and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment."
