Dubai: Dragon Oil has come on board as a sponsor for the INSEAD Energy Alumni Club of the UAE. The partnership will create a forum for knowledge exchange by leveraging best practices, success cases and leadership experiences through a series of events that will run through this year and the next.

The events will be held with academia and major local and global C-suite executives from the energy and sustainability industry in attendance. It will feature four main themes:

  • Leading energy sector transformation;
  • Technology roadmap for energy sector transformation;
  • Financing energy sector transformation; and
  • Mobilizing talent for transforming the energy sector.

“Every country, company and individual aspires to achieve net-zero emissions, which will be greatly influenced by internal and external factors,” said Ali Al Jarwan, CEO of Dragon Oil. “Government targets, availability of competent and talented people, together with an innovative environment are the internal factors

“On the external front, nations’ commitment towards technology and innovation to open the envelope of several challenges and the Financial Institutions’ readiness to support the change in a global collaborative environment. Depending upon these factors, Net Zero target achievement could be accelerated as a win-win situation for all where customers can have economical choices for alternative forms of sustainable energy.”

The INSEAD Energy Alumni Club UAE is led by a committee of energy experts from multinationals who have committed to play a more active role in advancing the UAE’s national priorities, especially around Net Zero and ESG.
