Dubai: Castrol Lubricants in the UAE have bagged the 2023 MENA EFFIE Awards for delivering a nationwide wellness programme tailored for members of the auto mechanics community. As part of the company’s goals to accelerate mechanic advocacy, Castrol Lubricants partnered with Aster Healthcare DM’s network of hospitals to provide health check-ups for automotive mechanics. 


“The objective was to reach out to all the auto mechanics in the country and spread health awareness and provide them with the opportunity to reach out to medical experts in their neighbourhood,” said Castrol.

To help the mechanics, the team from Castrol made door-to-door visits to all the auto garages. The company said the partnership with Aster Hospitals provided professional health screening to all the mechanics daily. 
Over 10,000 mechanics were contacted during the campaign, and all the mechanics who underwent wellness checks received a cobranded Castrol/Aster Wellness card. 


The Wellness card comes with free medical checks and discounted rates on prescribed medicines from Aster Hospitals, valid across their network for a year in UAE and India. 


“Castrol’s Wellness campaign encouraged all the mechanics to undergo preventive health check-ups and promote health awareness, especially amongst economically disadvantaged populations,” said the company.

Today, the awards honour all forms of effective marketing and the companies and individuals creating effective work across the globe, including the Middle East.
