After having participated in Middle East Energy in 2022, AIDA CCI repeated its participation in this edition, which took place from March 7 to 9, 2023, but with an institutional booth. It also made contacts with other entities, government agencies and companies with energy projects in the Middle East, Africa and India. The goal of this presence is to involve Portuguese companies in these projects through possible partnerships with local companies and representatives.
The Middle East is a strategic market for Aveiro, a region where technology has played a key role in the development of the city, making it an innovative and competitive ecosystem and one of the main drivers of economic development in the region. Being the seventh Portuguese city with the best quality of life, ahead of Porto (10th), the Aveiro region has a solid business ecosystem, with a high number of new companies and a strong predominance of the manufacturing industries and wholesale trade sector.
It should be noted that the economy of Aveiro presents a GDP per capita above the national average and its privileged geostrategic location is one of the biggest competitive advantages of the District of Aveiro. With a vast presence of transport infrastructures, it allows the existence of various forms of mobility (rail, sea, air, road, pedestrian and cycling), which also allow a rapid inter-regional and international connection.
MEE 2023 had over 800 international exhibitors, and the number of visitors, among customers and buyers, is expected to have been over 25,000, coming from over 170 countries, which makes this event a key platform for exhibiting companies to promote their brands, present their products and innovations, and create or strengthen their network of contacts. This is therefore a strategic opportunity for companies from the district of Aveiro to directly meet the major players in the sector, present their most innovative products, evaluate the competition and acquire knowledge that will enable them to develop and strengthen their business areas.
