Dubai: Twofour54, the Abu Dhabi media cluster, has signed a 10-year partnership with Unity Technologies to set up a gaming hub. The latter is best known for its Unity game engine, the game development platform.

Along with twofour54, Unity will develop a ‘Centre of Excellence’ where start-ups and students can learn skills needed to succeed in the gaming industry. The training initiative will sit alongside a competitive subsidy package for developers. Companies and startups involved with the hub will receive technical and business support services from Unity.

“Unity is at the forefront of the technology curve - I join the Abu Dhabi Leadership in welcoming them to Abu Dhabi to establish their Middle East and Africa regional headquarters,” said Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chairman of twofour54, in a statement.

“The initiatives we’re bringing to the table through this partnership will exponentially enhance Abu Dhabi’s offering across the industry value chain, from hands-on academic training to business development and game developer support,” said Dave Rhodes, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Unity Technologies.
