Dubai: As the world swings into the rhythm of Ramadan, Nando’s UAE takes time to reflect, appreciate and celebrate their journey over the past twelve months. One that has seen highs despite the challenging environment we all find ourselves in under COVID 19.

Nando’s UAE recognizes that their people have been the key ingredient in building a stronger and more resilient brand and business over the last year. All the time, everyone taking up their seat at the family table and living by the brand’s values of family, passion, integrity, pride and especially, courage. There is a fire that burns in deep in the heart of each and every Nandoca (the name affectionately given to anyone in the Nando’s family), and it is in that spirit that the brand has kept its fire burning and, even fueled its success in such uncertain times.

The health and wellbeing of their guests and people has, and always will be a top priority for Nando’s, and never more so than during the pandemic - making sure everyone feels as safe as possible. All the relevant protocol set out my local authorities were quickly embraced, and Nando’s even created and implemented some of their own additional stringent safety measures. Reassuring guests about this by communicating with them in-restaurant and digitally was key. They even encouraged guests to join them in making hygiene a priority, by for example encouraging guests to use the handwash basins in the dining area of each and every restaurant. Contactless menus for dine-in and even more stringent hygiene protocol for delivery, were quickly put in to action. Wanting to be proactive, as soon as vaccinations were available, Nando’s commenced their vaccination drive for all Nando’s people, to instill faith in the government’s immunity efforts.

A strong brand shaped by its values, Nando’s is well poised to take on tough times – and that is evidenced by a number of awards it has received over the last 12 months and its ambitious brand plans. Recently Nando’s has been awarded “Superbrand” status for the second year in a row – a prestigious award to be very proud of. They have a growing home-delivery business as fans seek to satisfy their PERi-PERi cravings at home. And, they have even managed to launch a couple of new and exciting menu items. One of the latest being an icon of its own – the “Espetada a Torre” - a very tall helping of flame-grilled, PERi-PERi chicken thighs served on a skewer which hangs (table-side of course!) from a uniquely designed stand. The perfect Instagram moment!

With integrity and family as core values, Nando’s continues to support the community and in the spirit of Ramadan, Nando’s will be doing some good during the Holy Month. The brand will be partaking in the ongoing Careem campaign ‘Eat a plate to fill a plate’, an initiative to help fight world hunger through donations made from selected menu items. And, all employees will be jumping in by taking part in the ‘Stop and Help Kindness Exchange’, where they will be helping the Dubai based community group compile food boxes for UAE based families in need.

Of course, there is something for their fans this Ramadan – be on the lookout for their new campaign and promotion which aims to help them ‘Fire up for the Fast’. Whether you are looking to dine-in or get your food delivered, be sure to try their new Cashew Chicken Arroz, a full, flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken, on a bed of Nando’s Spicy Rice, dressed with a creamy cashew sauce, roasted cashews and parsley and served with lemon wedges.
