Dubai: Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) has seen a spike in the number of new and renewed memberships being done electronically last month.
In total, memberships reached 5129, including 207 new and 4,922 renewals, which is an increase of 8 per cent compared to the same period last year.
“This reflects SCCI’s digital infrastructure and the quality and seamlessness of the smart and electronic services that helped the business sector,” SCCI said in a statement. “It shows the sustainability of Sharjah’s business environment growth and competitiveness in these challenging times related to COVID-19 pandemic.”
In terms of the free zone memberships, the SCCI recorded an increase of 23 per cent after the total number of memberships rose from 168 in the last year to 208. The total number of certificates of origin issued from the head office and branches in Khor Fakkan, Kalba, Al Dhaid totalled 5,564.
