Dubai: Emirates NBD, banking group and holding company of Emirates Bank, National Bank of Dubai and Emirates Islamic Bank, has announced the integration of its network of smart deposit machines (SDM).

This will result in one aligned platform and more services across the network of 92 smart deposit machines owned by the banking group.

Emirates Bank owns 62 SDM machines while Emirates Islamic Bank has 19 and National Bank of Dubai 11 machines.

Customers of the three banks can use the combined network free of charge.

Jamal Bin Galaita, Emirates NBD general manager - consumer banking and wealth management, said: "Following the SDM integration process, Emirates NBD customers will enjoy access to a larger smart deposit machine network. Emirates NBD constantly strives to boost its range of products and services."

Emirates NBD's smart deposit machines offer residents payment options for various utilities and services.

These include etisalat, du, Salik recharge; RTA and Dubai Police fine payments; Air Arabia ticket purchasing; Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa); Abu Dhabi Distribution Company; Al Ain Distribution Company; Empower district cooling bills and donations to charity organisations. Many other services are in the pipeline.

The smart deposit machines also offer customers the convenience of depositing cheques and cash into their accounts or credit cards.

The machines are programmed in both English and Arabic.
