Dubai: Yemenia has signed a $700 million deal for 10 Airbus A320 aircraft, an official announced at the Dubai Air Show.

The agreement has been signed by Salesh Alawaji, a member of Yemenia board of directors and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating officer.

The first A320 Aricraft will be delivered in 2011 while the others will be handed over in four years.

Yemenia's fleet consists of Seven Airbus planes and four Boeing 737-800s.

Meanwhile, Alawaji revealed that a third party - possibly from the USA - will handle the investigation of the crash near the island of Comoros earlier in 2009.

He said: “Parts of the black boxes recording, which are still with the French, were deleted.”

“We are sure that there was no technical deficiency in the aircraft and there were no signal or alarm had sent to control centre.”
