Dubai: Royal Jet, a UAE-headquartered air charter services company, said it is exploring possible expansion into the Russian market.

"Russia is a very important market for Royal Jet as the demand for luxury aviation services is increasing dramatically," said Royal Jet chairman Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

He said the UAE is strategically placed to supply the Russian market as it is four hours flying time from Moscow, and provides an excellent hub for multiple international destinations.

"Our presence in Russia will provide Royal Jet with a competitive edge in the aviation sector relative to other executive flight providers both regionally and internationally," Shaikh Hamdan said in a statement.

The company sees demand for charter services from Russia for destinations in the Middle East and for leisure tourism destinations like the Maldives and the Seychelles.
