Daily service from June 1 makes it first UAE airline to restart Syria route
Dubai carrier flydubai will resume daily direct flights to Damascus starting June 1, 2025, becoming the first UAE airline to restart commercial operations to Syria in over a decade.
The decision follows an earlier directive from the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in April allowing the resumption of flights between the two countries. flydubai will operate the route from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport to Damascus International Airport.
"Damascus was one of our earliest routes, and this relaunch underlines our ongoing commitment to connecting underserved markets to Dubai," said flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith. The airline had first flown to the Syrian capital in 2009 before suspending operations in 2012.
Return fares start from AED 2,000 for Economy and AED 10,000 for Business Class. The launch coincides with the upcoming Eid Al Adha break and peak summer travel demand.
