Dubai: UAE residents travelling with flydubai can now travel baggage-free and skip the long check-in queues at the airport.

The Dubai-based budget carrier confirmed on Monday that it is now offering a home service, allowing flyers to check in from the comfort of their residence, office or any preferred location.

With the new service, which is in partnership with dnata, customers can head straight to the airport without having to carry heavy loads of baggage or stopping by at the check-in counter.

flydubai is the second airline to offer a home check-in service to Dubai travellers. Emirates had earlier launched the same feature in April.

How to check in

flydubai customers can book the service anytime up to six hours before the flight departure. A driver and check-in agent will then meet the passenger at the chosen location in Dubai between 24 to four hours before departure to carry out the check-in procedures.

The team will pick up the bags and issue the boarding pass, so that the customer can just go straight to the immigration desks.

The cost of the service is based on the number of bags. For the month of June, however, customers can avail themselves of a 30 per cent discount, with each bag priced at Dh77, two bags at Dh154 and three bags at Dh209. Every additional bag will cost Dh28.
