Emirates' catering gets Dh147m loan

Standard Chartered Bank will provide $40 million (Dh147.2 million) towards part-financing expansion of Emirates Flight Catering's facilities, a company statement said.

The expansion involves three major projects. The first will be a food production facility called Food Point on the Dubai Investment Park.

"The second project has commenced last month at the Dubai International Airport where we are building an inflight catering facility dedicated to Emirates airline," said Khalifa Juma Al Naboudah, chairman of Emirates Flight Catering. The facility will likely be ready by the beginning of 2007.

The third project - industrial laundry - being built next to Food Point at Dubai Investment Park, will be complete by mid-2006.
