Sharjah: Sharjah Airport Authority – the operator of Sharjah International Airport – said Tuesday it is fully prepared to handle the surge in passenger numbers during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday.

A total of 3,344 flights have been scheduled to fly between March 27 and April 6 for more than half a million (500,000) passengers that are anticipated to use the airport. Sharjah Airport Authority has assured that all operational and logistical measures have been finalised to ensure smooth travel.

The authority said it has deployed additional staff, focusing on customer service and assistance for senior citizens, children, and passengers with disabilities. Facilities and support services have been optimised for efficiency.

Passengers are also encouraged to use smart check-in options to speed up airport procedures. The airport advises travellers to arrive at least three hours before departure for a hassle-free experience.

The Sharjah Airport Authority also advises all passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure time to allow ample time to complete travel procedures quickly. Sharjah International welcomed over 17 million passengers in 2024, an 11.4 per cent year-on-year growth.
