EgyptAir suspends flights to Beirut, Amman, Baghdad and Erbil amid regional escalation

Dubai: EgyptAir has suspended its flights to and from Beirut, Amman, Baghdad and Erbil until further notice, citing rising tensions and security concerns in the region. 

The decision comes as part of the airline’s commitment to prioritising its passengers' and crew's safety and security, amid heightened instability across several parts of the Middle East.

In a statement issued today, the national carrier urged passengers booked on the affected routes to reconfirm their travel arrangements.

This latest move follows a series of similar precautionary measures taken by regional and international carriers in recent weeks, as airspace and operational risks increase due to ongoing military activity and political unrest in the region. 

EgyptAir had previously adjusted some of its flight schedules and routes in response to earlier regional flare-ups, underscoring the growing impact of geopolitical volatility on the aviation sector.

The airline reaffirmed its readiness to resume operations to the suspended destinations once conditions stabilise, and safety can be assured. In the meantime, EgyptAir expressed appreciation for passengers’ understanding and cooperation during this period of uncertainty.
