Dubai: Dubai Airports and flydubai have signed a new Service Level Agreement at the 2025 Dubai Airshow, marking a shift toward faster and more accurate passenger-billing processes.

The deal links flydubai’s internal systems directly with Dubai Airports’ operational database and billing platform, creating a fully automated workflow that replaces thousands of PDF pages, manual checks, and long verification cycles.

The new setup uses a standard digital format, allowing Dubai Airports to send invoices instantly and enabling flydubai to verify them on the spot, instead of over several weeks.

Better accuracy

Both organisations say the integration improves data accuracy, simplifies audits, and reduces the risk of human error. Passenger billing for major carriers has traditionally been difficult to verify due to large data volumes, but the new system resolves many of those issues.

The project took eight months to complete and involved teams from Dubai Airports, flydubai, the Dubai Digital Authority, and GRP. The first automated invoice was issued on October 10, 2025.

Dubai Airports’ CFO said the system strengthens efficiency, transparency, and readiness for future growth at Dubai World Central. flydubai’s CFO noted that the shift to real-time invoicing brings clear gains in accuracy, compliance, and operational clarity.

Aircraft turnarounds

Separately, Dubai Airports is working with aviation software company Assaia International AG to introduce an AI system that manages aircraft turnarounds at Dubai International (DXB). The system will monitor every aircraft stand at the airport and use real-time data to help teams see what’s happening on the ground, make quicker decisions, and coordinate more effectively.

The technology makes Emirates the only airline globally using a full, airport-wide AI turnaround system for its entire DXB operation.

Dubai Airports plans to use the system to make aircraft turnaround steps more accurate and consistent. The project brings together major partners, including Emirates, flydubai, and dnata. The goal is to cut delays, improve on-time performance, and make travel through DXB smoother for passengers.
