DIFC Court first half claims value up 48%

Dubai: DIFC Courts, the international business courts based in Dubai, reported a 48 per cent increase in value of claims handled in the first half of the year on Sunday.

The courts handled Dh3.44 billion in the first six months to June 30 compared to Dh2.33 billion a year earlier, according to a statement.

Its Court of First Instance handled 23 arbitration and 50 enforcement cases, 35 per cent and 194 per cent more than a year ago. The number of Small Claims Tribunal cases declined from 108 to 79.
