Development comes after Iran launches an operation targeting a US base in Qatar.
Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has announced it is rerouting a number of its flights on Monday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 24, in direct response to ongoing airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East.
The airline confirmed that the situation is developing and that it is continuously monitoring security and airspace updates.
The airline said that the current situation was likely to cause “some disruption and delay to a number of flights over the coming days”.
The airline urged customers to check the status of their flight on its website.
Regional tensions have led to widespread airspace closures and advisories across the Middle East.
The airline stressed that it would only operate through approved airspace.
Etihad Airways said, "Etihad Airways flights only operate through approved airspace, safety is always our highest priority, and we would never operate a flight unless it were safe to do so."
Passengers with upcoming travel plans are strongly urged to check their flight status on etihad.com for the latest information.
