Dubai: India’s national carrier, Air India, has launched a major network-wide sale, offering a massive drop in airfares for travel across its domestic and international routes. The sale includes attractive deals for Indian expatriates in the UAE planning a trip home and Indian travellers planning a trip to the UAE. The promotion, announced Friday, offers round-trip fares between the UAE and India starting from as low as Dh717. Return fares from India to UAE have dropped down to Dh797.17.

The sale fares are available for travel until September 30, 2025, to most destinations, with an extended validity of up to December 10 on select long-haul routes to North America, Europe (including the United Kingdom), and Australia, the airline said in a statement.

That said, fares during the hyper-busy summer months of July and August have skyrocketed. Fares to top Indian destinations have already hit Dh1,365 (New Delhi) and Dh1,235 (Mumbai).

During the promotional sale, one-way fares on domestic routes start from Dh51.6 and round-trip fares on international routes start from Dh515.55. The network-wide sale is open until 11.59 pm of May 25 2025, with the last 24 hours of the sale being exclusively available on Air India’s website and mobile app.

Moreover, travellers booking their tickets on Air India’s website (airindia.com) and mobile app will enjoy zero convenience fees during the sale period. Additionally, travellers can save up to Dh129.2 per person using promo code FLYAI.

Air India also offers special deals on ancillary services booked through its direct online channels, including up to 40 per cent off on prepaid baggage for non-stop flights and up to 20 per cent off on seat selection. For even greater value, HSBC credit cardholders can avail savings of up to Dh344.5 on round-trip bookings, depending on the class of travel. For economy class travel between the UAE and India, HSBC cardholders can enjoy a discount of Dh107.6.

Premium Economy travellers can avail of additional discounts of Dh172.3, and Business/ First Class passengers can avail of discounts of Dh344. Bookings are now open.

According to an Economic Times report, Air India is set to significantly expand its global reach through more than 10 new codeshare agreements this fiscal year, targeting North America, Europe, and Africa. These partnerships are crucial for offering wider connectivity and driving feeder traffic, contributing to the airline’s goal of 25 per cent annual growth in international business, said the airline.
