Suspension extended following Houthi missile strike on May 4
Dubai: India's flag carrier, Air India, has announced the extension of its suspension on all flights to and from Tel Aviv until June 19 2025.
“Our flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended till June 19. Customers holding valid tickets for travel until this date will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations,” the airline said in a post on its X account.
The extension follows heightened security concerns after a Houthi-fired ballistic missile from Yemen struck near an access road, just a few hundred yards from the control tower at Israel’s main Terminal 3. The rocket, fired on May 4, was not intercepted by Israeli air defences.
In the wake of the attack, many international carriers have extended their suspension of services to Israel—ranging from short-term delays to indefinite cancellations—leaving numerous Israeli travellers stranded abroad.
Among the few foreign airlines that have resumed non-stop flights to the country are US-based Delta Air Lines, Hungary’s low-cost carrier Wizz Air, and Greece’s Aegean Airlines.
Air India had previously announced that its Tel Aviv flights would be suspended until May 25, 2025, before issuing the updated extension to June 19.
