Abu Dhabi: A new VIP terminal is to open at Abu Dhabi International Airport in the fourth quarter of this year.

The new terminal — which will boost the airport’s capacity — will be operated by National Aviation Services (NAS). It is set to offer a world-class travel experience and will be available to all passengers flying to and from Abu Dhabi International Airport. It will offer added privacy, convenience and luxury.

“Abu Dhabi Airports Company [Adac] is always committed to provide the best services to airlines and passengers despite the existing capacity challenges. In 2012 the airport saw a 18.9 per cent growth in passenger traffic compared with 2011. With the strong growth registered to date this year, traffic in the upcoming years in expected to follow the same if not an increased growth trend,” said Mohammad Al Bulooki, chief commercial officer at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“The new VIP terminal will add 924 square metres to the capacity of Abu Dhabi International Airport to accommodate the foreseen growth,” he added.

The new terminal will include separate immigration, police, check–in and baggage handling facilities.

Passengers at the VIP terminal will have access to a range of services and facilities.
