Dubai: The Department of Economic Development in Ajman has started issuing and renewing trade licenses, as well as related procedures and services, according to a statement by the department on Monday.

All the procedures and powers relating to the licensing of economic activities and trade register and trade names have been entrusted to the department, effective January 1 2015, according to Shaikh Ahmad Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ruler’s Representative for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the department.

The department has begun receiving customers through its service centers located in Al-Hamidiyah. It has two other centers, one each in Masfout and Manamah, with effect from January 4, 2015.

Mohammad Ali Al Marzouki, Acting Director General of the department, said the service centers were well organised to ensure smooth delivery of services after the transition; the methodologies and internal standards were effected, and the work situation has been clarified to employees.

Shaikh Ahmad said that during the next phase the department will endeavour to develop and organise the appropriate standards and terms required for practicing economic and professional activities.
