The event was aimed at promoting the well-being of pets through sound
In an unexpected yet heartwarming twist, Costa Rican artist Carlos Vargas, also known as "Tapado," brought music to the ears of four-legged attendees at the "Amon Cultural" urban festival in San José. The unique performance was an instrumental concert designed to soothe dogs and offer them a calming experience alongside their human companions.
The event, which aimed to promote the well-being of pets through sound, captured the attention of dog owners and their furry friends. "I think that creating this type of activity, along with what we do at home to keep them calm, is very special for them," said Laura Chacón, a dog owner who attended the concert with her pet. "Especially an event like this, which helps them relax," she added.
Vargas, known for his immersive instrumental music, shared his experience during the performance, revealing the surprising reactions of the dogs in attendance. "All the alpha dogs were barking, competing with each other, and as soon as we started with the first chords, the pets started to relax," he explained. "Some fell asleep, some were watching the concert, and some even came up to the stage and wanted to be there. It was a nice, nice surprise."
The festival, renowned for its diverse cultural offerings, embraced the innovative idea of catering to pets through music. By blending art with animal well-being, the event highlighted how sound can positively impact pets, providing an unforgettable experience for both animals and their owners.
This novel concert was just one of the many creative initiatives at the "Amon Cultural" festival. It continues showcasing artistic expression in all forms, from human performances to experiences with beloved pets in the cultural narrative.
