Nisha claimed household chores left her no time to make reels, costing her two followers
Dubai: An Indian woman lodged a police complaint against her husband, claiming that excessive household responsibilities prevented her from creating Instagram reels, resulting in a loss of followers.
According to local media reports, the woman, identified as Nisha, was an avid Instagram user known for regularly posting around two short reels a day. Tensions reportedly began when her husband, Vijendra, a resident of Noida in Uttar Pradesh, urged her to cut back on her social media activity and focus more on household duties.
Nisha scaled back her online presence to concentrate on household responsibilities but blamed her husband after noticing a loss of two followers on her Instagram account. The disagreement escalated into a heated argument, prompting her to leave their marital home and return to her parents’ residence in Pilkhuwa, a town in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district.
She subsequently filed a formal complaint against Vijendra at the women’s police station in Hapur. “My follower count dropped because my husband kept me occupied with household chores like washing dishes and cleaning. I didn’t have time to create reels,” Nisha reportedly told police.
Although Nisha later withdrew her complaint, police stated that the matter has been resolved legally. However, tensions persist in the couple’s personal relationship, and the two are reportedly still living separately.
