Dubai: In a bizarre incident in the Koderma district of Jharkhand, India, a man insisted on being jailed despite having committed no crime. While most people avoid detention, Mukesh Kumar Rajak, a resident of Manjhaladih, actively sought it, leaving the police puzzled.

According to News18, the unusual incident took place at the taxi stand police picket under the jurisdiction of Domchanch police station. Rajak approached Home Guard Chotan Mehta, who was on duty, and persistently demanded to be imprisoned. Taken aback, Mehta explained that imprisonment requires a legal basis and that he could not be detained without charges.

However, Rajak remained adamant. When his request was denied, he suddenly attacked Mehta, striking him multiple times in the face. The assault left the officer with significant facial injuries. Following the attack, Mehta immediately detained Rajak and took him to the Domchanch police station, where a formal complaint was filed.

As a result, the police registered a case against Rajak. On Tuesday, he was formally arrested and sent to Koderma jail.

Preliminary investigations suggest Rajak was experiencing severe mental distress due to family disputes, which may have driven him to seek imprisonment and attack the officer.
