A British Airways flight attendant was found naked in an aircraft toilet while under the influence of drugs during a flight from California to London, a court has heard.

According to the BBC, 41-year-old Haden Pentecost began “sweating” and “babbling” mid-flight, alarming both colleagues and passengers. A subsequent blood test confirmed he had taken methamphetamine and amphetamines.

Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court heard that Pentecost, who has since been sacked, failed to complete safety checks before take-off and was stood down by his manager.

He later complained of cramps and said he needed to change his clothes, before locking himself in a toilet. When a colleague eventually opened the door, he was found naked and seemingly unaware of his condition.

He had dilated pupils and rapid heart rate, and had to be monitored every 20 minutes until the flight landed at Heathrow. Paramedics later took him to the hospital.

Pentecost, from Basingstoke, was granted bail and will be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on a later date.
