Dubai: A massive fire broke out Sunday at a beachfront techno concert in the upscale Hacienda area of Egypt’s North Coast, turning what was meant to be a festive summer gathering into a scene of chaos and panic.

The blaze engulfed the concert stage, reducing it to ashes within minutes. Eyewitness videos circulated widely on social media showed thick plumes of smoke rising over the area as people rushed to extinguish the flames and flee to safety.

No fatalities were reported, though minor injuries were sustained, according to initial reports.

The fire is believed to have been triggered by a technical fault in the sound system, with flames first spotted in one of the speakers before spreading rapidly across the venue, local media outlet Sada El Balad reported.

Emergency services responded quickly, containing the fire before it could reach surrounding facilities.

The incident follows a string of fires across Egypt in recent days. In Cairo, a fire at Ramses Central Exchange earlier in the week lasted over 12 hours, resulting in four deaths, more than 30 injuries, and disruptions to telecommunications and digital payment services. Investigators cited an electrical short in an air conditioning unit as the cause.

Other fires during the same week included a blaze at a commercial center in 6th of October City, a hotel-side restaurant fire in Alexandria’s Sidi Bishr district, and a large-scale factory fire in Badr City due to improper chemical storage.
