Dubai: Sarah Khalifa, a prominent Egyptian TV presenter and social media influencer, has been arrested in Egypt on charges of involvement in a drug trafficking operation.

Local sources confirmed that Khalifa was detained in a luxury apartment in Cairo, where authorities said she played a role in smuggling illegal drugs.

Further reports suggest that the TV personality allegedly used her residence as a base for large-scale drug deliveries.

Khalifa, who is engaged to a well-known footballer from the Zamalek club, had reportedly built a reputation in the illegal drug trade, attracting a regular clientele.

Investigations are now underway by Egyptian authorities to track down the individuals connected to Khalifa, including both her clients and accomplices in the criminal operation.

Khalifa, who gained popularity as a TV presenter, also boasts a substantial social media following, with three million Instagram followers.

In addition to her media career, she has expanded her business ventures, opening a clinic specializing in beauty treatments, including Botox, fillers, and plastic surgery.

Though she was active on Instagram, Khalifa’s YouTube channel, with a modest 7,000 subscribers, has been inactive for over a year, while her Snapchat account also contributes to her social media presence.
