A two-day holiday has been announced in Bahrain in observance of Ashura.

The circular was issued by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to the circular, all ministries, government departments, agencies, and public institutions in the Kingdom will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6.

As Saturday falls on an official holiday, it will be compensated with a holiday on Monday, July 7. Bahrain follows a Friday-Saturday weekend.
