Panic sweeps through the audience as horrified spectators watch in shock
Dubai: A lion suddenly attacked a trainer during a live circus performance in Egypt, leaving him severely injured after mauling his left arm.
The shocking incident took place on Tuesday evening at the National Circus in the Beau Rivage area of Tanta, northern Egypt.
Panic swept through the audience as horrified spectators watched in shock. Some bravely rushed to the trainer’s aid, successfully pulling him from the lion’s grasp.
An ambulance quickly transported the injured trainer to Tanta University Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors were forced to amputate his left arm. Meanwhile, circus management announced an immediate suspension of the show and launched an investigation into the incident.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attack occurred when the trainer lost his footing and fell onto the circus floor while executing his routine. The lion seized the moment, lunging at the trainer and sinking its teeth into his arm, causing severe injuries.
In February, a similar tragedy occurred at Fayoum Zoo in western Egypt when a guard was suddenly attacked by a lion inside its cage. The fatal mauling resulted in his instant death.
