Gaza: Israel carried out two air strikes overnight Monday in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip following what the Israeli army said was a Palestinian rocket attack.

Neither Israel nor the Palestinians reported any casualties.

The first raid targeted a training camp of the Ezz Al Deen Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, near the Nuseirat refugee camp in the centre of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources said.

The second raid struck in the northern part of the strip near the community of Beit Lahiya, the security sources said.

An Israeli army spokesman said “a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck the Hof Ashqelon Regional Council” before midnight.
