Hamas congratulates Erdogan on win

Gaza City: Hamas, the Palestinian group in charge of the Gaza Strip congratualted Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) on its election win.

"It reflects the transformation underway among peoples in the region with a view to coming back to the Islamic ideals," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said of the Islamist ruling party.

Islamist group Hamas seized control of Gaza last month.
