Dubai: Dr Abdul Latif Al Zayani, GCC Secretary General, condemned statements against the UAE by Mahmoud Gozlan, spokesperson of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, as "irresponsible'' and do not advance the efforts of the GCC and Egypt to enhance bilateral ties.

Arab media on Saturday reported that Gozlan has threatened to "mobilise the entire world" against the UAE because of a recent statement by Dubai Police Chief, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, who said the UAE might sue Qatar-based cleric Yousuf Al Qaradawi for his anti-UAE position in a recent Friday sermon.

"What affects the UAE affects all GCC member states, Al Zayani said, adding that the Brotherhood official's remarks disregard the UAE's hosting of Arabs and its efforts to advance Arab causes.
