Gaza rocket strikes southern Israel: army

Occupied Jerusalem: A rocket fired in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip struck southern Israeli city of Ashkelon on Saturday, the Israeli military said.

There were no reports of casualties from the attack.

The rocket was one of a few to hit Israel since a January 18 ceasefire with Hamas ended 22 days of deadly fighting in the Gaza Strip.
