Dubai: Syrian actress and veteran icon Fadwa Mohsen, a beloved figure in Syrian and Arab drama, has passed away at the age of 84, as confirmed by the Syrian Artists Syndicate on their Facebook page.

Born in Deir Al Zor on February 20, 1941, Mohsen made her mark in the entertainment industry with a career covering television, film, and theatre.

She began her artistic journey in 1992 with the TV series Tarbesh, which served as the launchpad for a career that would go on to include a wide range of celebrated roles.

One of her most notable appearances was in the iconic Syrian series Bab A -Hara, where she portrayed the character "Umm Ibrahim" across multiple seasons.

Additionally, she appeared in Ma Malakat Aymanukum, Qulub Saghira, and Abna' Al Qahr, a series aired in 2009.

In film, Mohsen left a lasting impression with performances in Amina (2018) and Radd Al Qada' Sijn Halab (2016), while in theater, she graced audiences with her roles in King Lear and Al Zir Salem during the 1970s and 1980s.

Known for her exceptional ability to embody both dramatic and comedic roles, Mohsen was also recognized for her versatility in adopting different dialects across her projects.

Her most recent contribution to Syrian contemporary drama came in 2013 with her role in Sarkhat Rouh.
