A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Iran early on Tuesday morning, the National Centre of Meteorology said.

The tremor was recorded at a depth of 10km in the south-west of Iran at 04.39am UAE time, according to the NCM’s National Seismic Network.

Its effects were not felt in the UAE, the NCM added.
