Cairo: Saudi police arrested a girl, who appeared in an online video performing the viral Kiki dance challenge that carries the risk of causing traffic accidents, Saudi news portal Sabq reported on Friday.

The girl, whose age was not disclosed, was arrested in the eastern city of Al Khobar for her video clip in which she is seen practising the dance.

Her arrest came on an order from Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province Ahmad Bin Fahd after the girl posted on social media the video showing her “indecently dressed” in violation of public order, the report added without further details.

Based on Canadian rapper Drake’s hit song “In My feelings”, Kiki mania has hit several countries amid warnings from security authorities that the performers put their lives and those of others in peril. In the challenge, the participant gets out of a slowly moving car and dances to the beat of the song.

Several Arab celebrities have posted online videos of them doing the Kiki challenge.
