Saudi courts resolve 3,825 labour rows in month
Forty-two per cent of the overall rulings were pertaining to wage disputes
Cairo: Saudi labour courts issued 3,825 rulings in one month, the Justice Ministry has revealed.
Forty-two per cent of the overall rulings were pertaining to wage disputes, the ministry said, according to Saudi newspaper Okaz.
The verdicts, passed in the past Islamic lunar month of Dhu Al Qada ranged between 122 to 243 daily.
Courts based in the holy city of Mecca took the lead in terms of rulings with a total of 1,126, followed by those in Riyadh with 969 and then the Eastern Province with 953, according to the report.
Labour tribunals in Saudi Arabia have the jurisdiction to hear lawsuits related to disputes in work contracts, wages, labour rights, occupational injuries and compensation as well as rows linked to the work system and social insurance.
