Abu Dhabi: Saudi Customs have decided to impose a fine of 20 riyals per day on motorists of foreign cars, who overstay their vehicle permit to be driven in the Kingdom, local media reported.

The customs said, “Foreign vehicles are permitted to remain in Saudi Arabia for three months, and upon exceeding this period a fine of 20 riyals per day of delay is imposed, not exceeding 10% of the vehicle’s value.”

The authority explained that the last model year of foreign vehicles allowed to enter Saudi Arabia is 2016.
