Dubai: Saudi Arabia has recorded 2,591 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the Kingdom to 95,748, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday.

During the daily press briefing, the ministry revealed that another 31 COVID-19 patients have died, taking the total number of deaths to 642.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,651 patients have fully recovered after receiving necessary treatment, pushing the total number of patients recovered up to 70,616.

Saudi Arabia had recently witnessed a downward trend in number of infections but the numbers in the last two days show a reverse trend.

Of the new cases, Riyadh reported the most number of infections with 719 cases followed by Jeddah with 459 new cases.

The ministry also revealed that currently a total of 1,412 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition while the total active cases has increased to 24,490.
