Cairo: An outbreak of the coronavirus is under control in Saudi Arabia, the kingdom’s Health Minister Tawfiq Al Rabiah said Sunday.

“Thank God, we are still in control of the coronavirus in the kingdom where we are witnessing a dip in the number of infections,” he said in a tweet.

In recent weeks, Saudi authorities have reported a steady decline in the daily virus infection rates in the country where a tally of 356,9111 cases and 5,870 related fatalities have been registered so far.

Rabiah urged people to continue abidance by anti-virus precautions, including a ban on mass gatherings. “We stress the necessity of commitment until the last case is announced to have recovered if God wills,” he added.

Over the past months, Saudi authorities have booked dozens of businesses for failing to observe health measures in place to stem the spread of COVID-19.
