Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia has approved e-learning standards in general and higher education and training agencies and the list of licenses to provide e-education and training programmes.

Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sheikh, Minister of Education, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for E-learning, said adopting standards and regulations represents a new stage in e-learning, noting the move enables universities, educational and training institutions to provide e-learning and training programmes efficiently and effectively, as part of the system for controlling these practices and upgrading them to keep pace with the global pattern.

He pointed out that the adoption of the regulations and standards took place through meetings with specialists and experts in e-learning in the Kingdom, stressing that they constitute a new start for the work of the National Centre for E-Learning.
