Saudi Arabia: 2 arrested as nearly 400,000 amphetamine pills found

Abu Dhabi: The Saudi anti-narcotics authority has arrested two citizens for allegedly smuggling a huge quantity of amphetamine pills, police said.

The spokesperson for the General Directorate for Drug Control, Captain Mohammed Al Najidi, said the duo were arrested as they attempted to smuggle the contraband drugs into Asir province, southwest of Saudi Arabia, with 398,800 amphetamine pills seized.

The men were remanded in custody and measures were taken to move them to the Public Prosecution for trial, Captain Al Najidi said.
