Dubai: The daily count of the new coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia has also increased today, with 261 infections reported on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Health, three patients died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the COVID-19 infection, marking another single-digit, single-day virus-related fatalities following the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 368,074 and overall fatalities to 6,375.

The ministry also reported 274 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people recovered across the Kingdom to 359,573, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.67 per cent.

With the recent increase in new COVID-19 cases over the past few days, the active cases in Saudi Arabia also rose to 2,126, out of which 362 are critical under intensive care.

Bahrain

Bahrain’s daily tally of COVID-19 infections has recently seen a significant increase, with 655 new cases reported on Sunday, the Ministry of Health said.

This brings the total confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 102,626, while death toll has remained at 372 as no fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, the ministry said in its latest update.

There have been 212 fresh recoveries, pushing total recoveries to 98,160. The active cases have now touched 4,094, including 4,069 that are stable and 25 are critical cases under intensive care.

Kuwait

The Ministry of Health said that 635 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Kuwait, shooting up total number of infections to 165,257.

In its daily report, the Ministry of Health said no new fatalities have been reported in the last 24 hours, keeping death toll at 959. The overall recoveries have gone up to 157,931 as 527 patients have fully recovered.

Due to the recent increase in daily reported cases, the active cases have now risen to 6,367, including 58 cases that have been admitted to intensive care units.

Oman

The Sultanate announced the detection of 598 new coronavirus cases in the last three days, out of which four new cases of COVID-19 mutant.

The Ministry of Health reported two deaths in Oman in the past 72 hours.

The total cases in the country have now touched 134,326 including 1529 deaths, while a further 282 recoveries were also reported, pushing total recoveries to 126,854, the ministry said in its latest update.

The ministry urged everyone to adhere to social distancing instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the MOH.

Minister of Health Ahmed Mohammad Al Saeedi said, “The Sultanate has registered four new cases of the new strain of mutant coronavirus.”
