Manama: The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development said that it will recruit over 70 Qataris in a bid to increase the number of nationals within its workforce .
The employment drive is part of the organisation’s commitment to training and hiring Qataris to work in the fields of information technology, marketing, teaching and engineering, the foundation said.
“We are determined to build a qualified workforce by recruiting new talent, and we encourage both recent graduates and more skilled job seekers to consider the many career opportunities that are on offer at Qatar Foundation,” Hassan Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Human Resources Directorate, said. “We invest heavily in our human capital by providing Qataris with professional training programmes to help them progress in their chosen fields, and contribute substantially to their country’s expanding knowledge economy.”
Employment is open to Qataris with varying skill sets from entry-level graduates to more experienced professionals. Younger applicants are encouraged to apply for internships and entry-level positions in order to develop the necessary expertise for the job market.
Foreigners make up around 80 per cent of the total work force in Qatar.
The state has been pushing for a new policy that boosts the employment of Qataris in several sectors.
